Page 1

Bob Snyder's music career began very early, starting with the piano at age 6, the saxophone at age 8, and at the age of 11, Bob was playing the clarinet with the Hoosier Symphony at Caterbury College. Bob also began playing in the High School band when he was in 3rd grade.

Bob continued to play all through high school, during which time he won the "Indiana All-State Music Competition" 4 years in a row. Shortly after graduation Bob joined the Marine Corps, switched to the Air Force where he played with the "Airmen Of Note", "Crew Chiefs", "V.I.P. Band" and was an original member of the "Air Force Academy Band".

His career continued to flourish throughout the 1960's, playing with Freddie Masters and The Del Forrest Group. He then joined the Tommy Dorsey Show. Later Bob performed at AL Hirts Club in New Orleans, then formed his own band playing at VooDoo's, Pigalle, Sands Hotel (where he appeared with Frank Sinatra), and the Worlds Fair in Flushing, N.Y.
